Shuuichi Ikeda Narrates Mobile Suit Gundam UC RE:0096 TV Anime's 1st Ad

TV broadcast of video anime series premieres on April 3

Nagoya TV began streaming a 15-second ad on Friday for the Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE:0096 television anime series. Shuuichi Ikeda (the voice of Full Frontal) narrates the ad. The ad also features SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Tielle's opening theme song "Into the Sky."

Narration: New program, Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. Sunday, April 3 at 7:00 a.m. The Newtype inside of you awakens.

The anime is being reedited for the television version, and it will also feature a new opening and ending theme with new animated footage. Hiroyuki Sawano's vocal project SawanoHiroyuki[nZk] is producing the new songs. SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:naNami will perform the ending theme song "Next 2U -eUC-." SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Aimer — featuring vocals by Sawano's frequent contributor Aimer (Gundam UC sixth ending, No. 6, Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works themes) — will perform to the show's second ending theme song "bL∞dy f8 -eUC-."

Shuuichi Ikeda will narrate the next episode preview footage each week as his character Full Frontal. The broadcasts will also have an optional on-screen data stream component. Viewers can use the data to play games online and win presents.

The anime will premiere on April 3 and it will air on Sundays at 7:00 a.m. on TV Asahi and its affiliated networks. The anime will air for two cour or two quarters of a year.

The anime adapts Harutoshi Fukui's original Mobile Suit Gundam UC novel series, which is mainly set in the year Universal Century 0096, 16 years after the events of the One Year War depicted in the first Mobile Suit Gundam anime, and three years after the Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack anime film. In a renewed conflict between the Earth Federation and Neo Zeon remnants, the Vist Foundation has a potentially devastating secret from the founding of the Federation a century before.

Sunrise released the seven-episode video anime series theatrically in Japan and on home video between 2010-2014. Right Stuf released the series in North America digitally via the PlayStation Store and physically on home video.
