posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Tatsunoko Productions announced at AnimeJapan on Saturday that it is collaborating with Level-5 to make the Time Bokan 24 television anime series. The anime is slated to premiere this fall.
Takayuki Inagaki (World Break: Aria of Curse for a Holy Swordsman, Rosario + Vampire) is directing the series, and Yoichi Kato (Yo-kai Watch, Aikatsu!) is in charge of series composition. Akihiro Hino (Yo-kai Watch, Inazuma Eleven story) is the creative producer. Level-5 is contributing the original character and mechanical designs and planning the project with Tatsunoko Productions.
The anime is one part of a project to celebrate Tatsunoko Productions' 55th anniversary in 2017. Tatsunoko Productions is also collaborating with Digital Frontier to produce an anime adaptation of Ukyō Kodachi and Tatsuma Ejiri's Infini-T Force ~Mirai no Byōsen~ (Infini-T Force: Writing Line of the Future) manga as part of the project.
The original Time Bokan television anime series premiered on Fuji TV in 1975, and its original broadcast ended in 1976. The anime inspired six spinoff television anime series, including Yatterman, that aired until 1983. The most recent related television anime, Yatterman Night, debuted in 2015, and Funimation streamed the series as it aired in Japan.
