JAST USA announced on Friday that it will feature an English dub option for its release of Nitroplus' Communication With Sonico (SoniComi) PC game. Jessica Nigri is returning to voice the character in the dub from the Super Sonico The Animation television anime series. The game will also include the original Japanese audio track.
JAST USA had announced at Anime Expo last July that it would release the game last winter, but is now slated to ship this summer. The game is available to pre-order in a limited edition for US$55 or a collector's edition for US$160. The limited edition includes a Super Sonico acrylic figure, illustration cards, the PC game on DVD, and a Steam activation key. The collector's edition includes a giant body mouse pad in addition to the limited edition items.
Nitroplus and Enterbrain released the "love communication" game in 2011 for PC. In the game, players aim to become a professional cameraman, and take requests from various clients while deepening a friendship with the new gravure idol Sonico.
Super Sonico is the mascot girl of the "Nitro Super Sonic" events held by Nitroplus. In her back story, she is already a photoshoot model, game character, and a musician, even as she studies as a college student. She is also part of a three-piece girl band named "Daiichi Uchū Sokudo" (Fastest Astronautical Speed) as the vocalist and guitarist.
The game inspired a PS3 adaptation titled Motto! SoniComi that Kadokawa Games shipped in Japan in March 2014. The character has also inspired the SoniAni: Super Sonico the Animation television anime series and several manga adaptations. Sentai Filmworks released the anime series on Blu-ray Disc.
