Hyōtenka no Kanojo ni Nanika Yōkai launched 1st chapter on Monday

Manga creator Karino Takatsu (Working!!, Servant × Service) launched a new four-panel manga titled Hyōtenka no Kanojo ni Nanika Yōkai (The Girl Below Freezing is Some Kind of Monster) on Square Enix's Gangan Online web manga site on Monday. The series is a spinoff of her My Monster Girl's Too Cool for You (Ore no Kanojo ni Nanika Yōkai) four-panel comedy manga series.

The manga is a prequel to the main manga, and features Hanabi and Hyōka, the mothers of Atsushi and Muku, during their time as high school girls.

Yen Press began publishing chapters of the My Monster Girl's Too Cool for You manga as they are released in Japan last October, and it describes the first volume:

In a world where yōkai and humans attend school together, a boy named Atsushi Fukuzumi falls for snow yōkai Muku Shiroishi. Fukuzumi's passionate feelings melt Muku's heart...and the rest of her?! The first volume of an interspecies romantic comedy you're sure to fall head over heels for!!

Takatsu launched the manga in Square Enix's Shonen Gangan magazine in 2011. Square Enix published the manga's second compiled book volume last December. Yen Press digitally published the manga's first volume last September. Takatsu also launched her new Dust Box 2.5 manga in Young Gangan last December.

Takatsu began her Working!! manga in Shonen Gangan in 2005, and it already inspired three television anime seasons. Crunchyroll streamed all three series as they aired in Japan, and NISA licensed and released the first two seasons in North America under the title Wagnaria!!. Aniplex of America is releasing the third season. Her Web-ban Working!! web manga version of the Working!! manga is getting a television anime adaptation titled WWW.WORKING.
