Tanaka-kun is Always Listless Added to Animelab Spring Simulcast

On Sunday the 10th of April, AnimeLab announced via Twitter the addition of Tanaka-kun is Always Listless to their spring simulcast season. Tanaka-kun is Always Listless will stream every Sunday for the duration of it's run and if you have a premium membership you can watch the first episode right now on AnimeLab.

The spring simulcast season includes the following previously announced titles as follows;

Tanaka-kun is Always Listless

Sighing, leaning on his elbows, sleepy eyes. Tanaka-kun is a boy that basically doesn't try but isn't disliked. This is a laid-back youth comedy about Tanaka-kun and the quiet Ota who can't leave him alone.-AnimeLab

Shinya Kawamo (.hack//GIFT, Kokoro Connect, Non Non Biyori) is directing the anime at SILVER LINK and Akemi Omode (Getbackers, Kyo kara Maoh!, Tales of the Abyss) is handling the scripts. Haruko Iizuka (Umi Monogatari, Ōkami-san & Her Seven Companions, Little Busters!) has designed the characters for animation while Kusanagi is providing the art direction. Hiromi Mizutani (Sunday Without God, Non Non Biyori, Shomin Sample) has composed the music. Unlimited Sunshine performs the opening song "Utatane Sunshine" and singer/songwriter CooRie performs the anime's ending theme song "BON-BON."

The series premiered in Japan on April 9 on TokyoMX and it will also air of MBS, TV Aichi, Hiroshima TV and BS11. The Cine Libre Ikebukuro theater will screen new episodes of the anime weekly, beginning on April 9, during the anime's premiere.

Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks licensed the series for North America.

Tanaka-kun is Always Listless will gain a Blu-ray and DVD release on the 24th of June followed with the second volume on the 22nd of July and will include one episode each and a bonus episode alongside other extras.

Tanaka-kun is Always Listless was originally a manga series by Nozomi Uda titled Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge (manga). Uda launched the series on the Gangan Online website in 2013, and Square Enix published the manga's fifth compiled volume last November. The sixth volume will ship this month. The manga has more than 1 million copies in print.
