Benesse's Shinken Zemi Manga Inspires KANA-BOON Music Video

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Music video starring Yūna Taira premieres on Japanese television as commercial on Friday.

Benesse's Shinken Zemi manga inspired a live-action music video by KANA-BOON (Boruto -Naruto the Movie-, The Perfect Insider) for the band's "Run and Run" song. The music video portrays scenes in the manga, and stars Yūna Taira as the protagonist Chiaki Sakura. Benesse's Shinken Zemi Plus website began streaming the music video on Tuesday. The original manga is also available on the same website.

The video centers on Chiaki Sakura (played by Yūna Taira), a normal high school girl with normal grades and poor performance in her basketball club. Her friend Haruo Satō teases her, but also worries about her. Chiaki admires an upperclassman, Natsuki Kawatsu, who is good at both studies and sports. They meet each other at a bus stop on the way home one day, and Natsuki teaches Chiaki proper shooting form and his study methods. He tells her that he studied using Benesse's Shinken Zemi Plus correspondence program, and she resolves to try it as well.

The music video also premiered on Japanese television as a commercial on Friday.

Shinken Zemi Kōkō Kōza, Benesse's correspondence course that helps middle schoolers get into the high school of their choice, already produced a 2012 anime short, which was available exclusively on a DVD from the correspondence program. Benesse also produced an anime short last year starring Kana Hanazawa.
