Crunchyroll also streaming TV anime

Crunchyroll announced on Monday that it has added Hiromi Morishita and Junko Ogino's new manga adaptation of the Shōnen Ashibe GO! GO! Goma-chan television anime. The manga is available to Crunchyroll members worldwide excluding Japan.

The new manga series debuted on the June issue of Futabasha's Gakken Action magazine on Monday.

Crunchyroll is also streaming the television anime to Crunchyroll members worldwide outside of Asia. The anime premiered this month.

The anime itself is a new adaptation of Morishita's original Shōnen Ashibe manga. Morishita serialized the original manga in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine from 1988 to 1994. The story follows the daily life of the baby spotted seal Goma-chan and its owner, schoolboy Ashibe Ashiya.

Morishita's original manga already inspired a 1991 television anime series and a second 1992-1993 television anime series. It also spawned a manga sequel named ComaGoma in Weekly Young Jump from 2000 to 2004. Futabasha has since been republishing selected chapters of the original manga, and it is printing a new edition this spring.
