Girls & Panzer Film Opens in Hong Kong on Thursday

Hong Kong movie site Cinema City is listing the Girls und Panzer film for a Thursday, May 12 opening in Hong Kong, with a limited screening until May 18. The film will be available in 4DX in select theaters.
Yahoo! Movies Taiwan is also listing the film for a Friday, May 13 opening in Taiwan. The film will be available in 4DX in select theaters, and advance ticket buyers will receive up to two of four random shikishi (sign boards) with illustrations.
The film opened in Japan last November, and it ranked #38 in the top 39 highest grossing Japanese domestic films of 2015 (tied with Grasshopper). The film is still screening in some Japanese theaters, with 4DX screenings having just ended on May 1, and ULTIRA screenings with higher video and sound quality beginning this week.
The film has sold 1,144,720 tickets for a total of 1,912,179,484 yen (about US$17.23 million) as of April 24, after its 23rd week in Japanese theaters.
The film will ship on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in Japan on May 27, and the release will come with a new OVA that will take place after the events of the movie, as well as an episode of the "Akiyama Yukari no Sensha Kōza" (Yukari Akiyama's Tank Lecture) shorts.
