The official YouTube channel of Shueisha's Ribon magazine began streaming the second new episode of the television anime adaptation of Nana Haruta's Tsubasa to Hotaru shōjo romantic comedy manga on Tuesday.
In the new episode, Tsubasa's class holds a Christmas party. Tsubasa gives a scarf to Yūma as a present, and the group sings Christmas carols at a karaoke bar. A flashback reveals that Aki could not come after all due to his basketball practice, and Yūma notices that Tsubasa is upset. After the party, Yūma pulls her away and expresses his displeasure with Aki's absence. After Tsubasa replies that Yūma is like a hero of justice, he embraces her. He tells Tsubasa that she is wrong, and then confesses his love for her.
Ribon's YouTube channel previously streamed the first new episode on May 8.
The new episodes are airing on May 10, 17, and 24 as segments within the Oha-Suta ("Good Morning Star") program on TV Tokyo. Kanae Itō, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, and Takahiro Sakurai are reprising their roles as Tsubasa Sonokawa, Aki Hidaka, and Yūma Toba, respectively.
The story of Tsubasa to Hotaru revolves around Tsubasa Sonokawa, a 15-year old high school girl who fell in love with her upperclassman when he saved her after she fainted at the train station from anemia. She thought it was a meeting of fate, and visited him at his class every day. However, he told her that her feelings were "heavy," and he dumped her. She once again meets a boy after taking over her friend Yuri's job as boy's basketball team manager. She learns that she might have more of a connection with this boy named Aki than she first thought...
