Series runs irregularly in Weekly Young Magazine

This year's 25th issue of Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine announced on Monday that CLAMP's xxxHOLiC: Rei manga will reach its "climax" in next week's issue on May 30. (Note: In Japanese, the word "climax" written in the phonetic katakana alphabet often refers to the final chapter of a manga.)

The series launched in the magazine in March 2013 after an initial delay. The series went on hiatus in July 2014 and returned in April 2015. The manga has since been serialized irregularly.

Kodansha released the second compiled book volume with the xxxHOLiC: Rō and xxxHOLiC: Rō Adayume original anime videos in April 2014, and the third volume shipped in Japan in August 2014.

xxxHOLiC: Rei is the latest manga in CLAMP's dark fantasy series xxxHOLiC. CLAMP serialized the original xxxHOLiC manga in Weekly Young Magazine and Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine from 2003 to 2011, although it was renamed xxxHOLiC: Rō in 2009.

The original manga's story follows Yuuko — a witch who grants people's wishes, but in return the person has to give up something precious — and Watanuki Kimihiro, a man who has visions. One day, Watanuki encounters Yuuko and she promises to get rid of the spirits that torment him. In return Watanuki must work in Yuuko's shop and help her grant other people's wishes.

Kodansha Comics publishes xxxHOLiC: Rei in in North America, and released the third volume in April 2015.
