New music unit Saikic Lover to perform background music

This year's 27th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed on Monday that Natsuki Hanae will perform the opening theme song for the Sunday late-night broadcast of the Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan anime. Hanae is voicing the character Reita Toritsuka in the series.

The magazine also revealed that the new special musical unit Saikic Lover will perform background music for the anime. The group consists of vocalist Yoffy, guitarist IMAJO, and arranger Kenichirō Ōishi.

The magazine's next issue will reveal the ending theme song performer.

The anime's main cast includes:

Hiroshi Kamiya as the protagonist Kusuo Saiki
Mitsuo Iwata as Kuniharu Saiki
Rikako Aikawa as Kurumi Saiki
Nobunaga Shimazaki as Shun Kaidō
Daisuke Ono as Riki Nendō
Ai Kayano as Kokomi Teruhashi
Yukari Tamura as Chiyo Yumehara
Satoshi Hino as Kineshi Hairo
Natsuki Hanae as Reita Toritsuka

The staff posted character designs for some of the cast last week.

The manga centers on a high school boy named Kusuo Saiki. He possesses supernatural powers that cause unfortunate events in his everyday life.

Hiroaki Sakurai (Di Gi Charat, Maid Sama!) is directing the anime at EGG FIRM and J.C. Staff, and Michiko Yokote (Shirobako, Kyōkai no Rinne) is in charge of series composition. Masayuki Onji (Kimi to Boku., Aoi Hana) is in charge of character design.

The anime will premiere as a "double broadcast," airing in the mornings Mondays-Fridays within the Oha-Suta ("Good Morning Star") program on TV Tokyo, and at night on TV Tokyo, TV Aichi, and TV Osaka. The anime's morning broadcast will premiere on July 4 at 7:05 a.m., and the late-night broadcast will premiere on July 10 at 25:35 (effectively July 11 at 1:35 a.m.).
