Atlus 'Looks Into' Releasing Japanese Voice Track as DLC for Persona 5

posted on by Karen Ressler
Game will ship with English dub only

Atlus USA public relations manager John Hardin stated over Twitter on Wednesday that he is looking into the possibility of a Japanese voice over DLC for the upcoming game Persona 5. He added, "And regarding expectations, know that is a massively steep, uphill request."

As previously revealed, the game itself will only have an English dub.

The latest entry in the Persona role-playing games will ship for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on September 15 in Japan, and on February 14, 2017 in the Americas. Atlus will offer the American release in a "Take Your Heart" Premium Edition that includes a soundtrack CD, a Morgana plush, a hardcover art book, a steelbook, and a school bag. The game will also be available in a SteelBook Edition.

The game features animation sequences from the Production I.G studio.

The Persona 5 the Animation -The Day Breakers- television anime special will air in September, before the game's launch. It will recount the prologue story of the young thief organization at the center of the game.

An orchestral concert will run on August 13. "Persona 20th Fes," a "immersive Persona cultural festival" in the style of high school festivals, will run at the Arts Chiyoda 3331 complex in Tokyo's Akihabara district in December to celebrate the franchise's 20th anniversary.
