Visual Art's Previews Rewrite Anime's Opening Theme

Visual Art's began streaming a trial version of the opening theme "Philosophyz" for the television anime of the Rewrite visual novel. Runa Mizutani from the NanosizeMir dōjin music unit performed the song. Original scenario collaborator Yūto Tonokawa wrote the lyrics, Shinji Orito composed the music, and MintJam arranged the piece.
The anime will premiere on July 2 with a one-hour special first episode. The anime will air on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, MBS, and BS11. The first episode will also screen at an event in Tokyo on June 25, and the event will stream live on Niconico.
The software's voice cast is returning for the anime:
- Masakazu Morita as Kotarō Tennōji
- Chiwa Saito as Kotori Kanbe
- Saya Shinomiya as Chihaya Ohtori
- Eri Kitamura as Akane Senri
- Keiko Suzuki as Shizuru Nanatsu
- Risa Asaki as Lucia Konohana
- Kana Hanazawa as Kagari
The anime will portray a "sixth" route left untold in the game, which will tell the story of "that girl."
Tensho (Kinmoza! Kiniro + Mosaic, The Fruit of Grisaia) is directing the anime at 8-bit and also supervising the series scripts. Romeo Tanaka (Cross Channel scenario, Humanity Has Declined) and Visual Art's Kai (Clannad scenario, Grim Reaper Kyou) are credited with collaborating on the composition and scripts. Masayuki Nonaka (Hello!! KINMOZA chief animation director, The Fruit of Grisaia main animator) is adapting the game's original character designs by Key/Visual Art's Itaru Hinoue (Kanon, Air, Clannad, Little Busters!) for animation.
In addition to the opening theme song, Mizutani will also perform the ending theme song "Sasayaka na Hajimari" (A Modest Beginning). The songs used for the anime will be arranged versions of these songs. Anri Kumaki will perform the "End of the World" song for the series. Jun Maeda is writing and composing the song. Aoi Tada (theme songs for Charlotte, Angel Beats!) will also provide music for the series.
