Rewrite Anime Streams Special Promo Before July 2 Premiere

posted on by Egan Loo
Characters, story, Runa Mizutani's opening song previewed

The official website for the television anime of the Rewrite visual novel began streaming a special promotional video on Wednesday, just before the anime's July 2 premiere. The video introduces the characters and story, and it also features the opening theme "Philosophyz" by Runa Mizutani from the NanosizeMir dōjin music unit.

The anime is based on the visual novel of the same name by Visual Art's/Key, and the cast will return from the game:

The anime will portray a "sixth" route left untold in the game, which will tell the story of "that girl."

Tensho (Kinmoza! Kiniro + Mosaic, The Fruit of Grisaia) is directing the anime at 8-Bit and also supervising the series scripts. Romeo Tanaka (Cross Channel scenario, Humanity Has Declined) and Visual Art's KAI (Clannad scenario, Grim Reaper Kyou) are credited with collaborating on the composition and scripts. Masayuki Nonaka (Hello!! KINMOZA chief animation director, The Fruit of Grisaia main animator) is adapting the game's original character designs by Visual Art's/Key's Itaru Hinoue (Kanon, Air, Clannad, Little Busters!) for animation.

Aside from the opening theme song, Mizutani will also perform the ending theme song "Sasayaka na Hajimari" (A Modest Beginning). The songs used for the anime will be newly arranged versions of these songs. Anri Kumaki will perform the "End of the World" song for the series. Jun Maeda is writing and composing the song. Aoi Tada (theme songs for Charlotte, Angel Beats!) will also provide music for the series.

The anime will premiere on July 2 with a one-hour special first episode. The anime will air on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, MBS, and BS11. Crunchyroll will stream the anime in North America, Central America, South America, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
