Fairy Tail Manga's 56th, 58th Volume OADs Rescheduled

"Natsu vs. Mavis" ships with 58th volume in November, "Yōsei-tachi no Christmas" ships with 59th volume in December

This year's 32nd issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine announced on Wednesday that the original anime DVDs (OAD) set to ship with the limited editions of Hiro Mashima's Fairy Tail manga's 56th and 58th volume have been rescheduled.

The "Natsu vs. Mavis" OAD, originally slated to ship with the 56th volume's release on July 15, will now ship with the 58th volume in November. The "Yōsei-tachi no Christmas" OAD, originally set to ship with the 58th volume's release on November 17, will now ship with the 59th volume in December. All existing preorders for the volumes have been canceled, and purchasers must place new preorders to acquire the OADs.

The limited edition of the manga's 55th volume bundled an OAD titled "Yōsei-tachi no Batsu Game" on May 17. The OAD is based on a one-shot spinoff manga.

The manga follows the adventures of world's most notorious mage guild, Fairy Tail. It already inspired two television anime, several previous original video anime projects, and spinoff manga. The franchise's first anime film, Fairy Tail the Movie: Phoenix Priestess, opened in Japan on August 18, 2012, and Mashima announced a second film in May 2015. The television anime series also revealed in March that a new project is in the works.

Del Rey published the first 12 volumes of the original manga in North America, and Kodansha resumed publishing the manga in English with the 13th volume in 2011. Crunchyroll streamed the second television anime into several countries as it aired in Japan, and Funimation has been releasing DVD/Blu-ray Disc sets.
