Square Enix began streaming an English-dubbed trailer for its Mobius Final Fantasy smartphone role-playing game on Thursday, revealing that the game will get a Western release on August 3. The trailer reveals parts of the game's story.
Square Enix describes the game:
Created by an all-star development team including producer Yoshinori Kitase and writer Kazushige Nojima – known for their work on the acclaimed FINAL FANTASY VII and upcoming FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE – MOBIUS FINAL FANTASY is the story of a man who wakes up in a world called Palamecia with no memory of his past. There, he finds himself tasked with bringing hope to the world by unraveling a mysterious prophecy around the legendary warrior of light.
Square Enix released the game on iOS and Android devices in Japan in June 2015. The game made the iTunes Best of 2015 list in Japan.
Square Enix has opened an English website for the game, and those interested can pre-register on the site. The site is running a pre-registration campaign that unlocks more in-game items as more players pre-register. Possible pre-registration bonus items include items themed after the Final Fantasy X game, including the Brotherhood sword and a Yuna character card. The items will be available to pre-registered plays once the game launches.
