Publisher did not meet stretch goal for Toshio Maeda to update manga's artwork

Hentai website Fakku's Kickstarter campaign to publish a remastered edition of Toshio Maeda's Urotsukidoji (Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend) manga in English ended successfully on Tuesday, raising US$60,021 of its US$47,000 goal.

The campaign did not meet its US$87,000 stretch goal for Maeda to update the artwork across all four volumes of the manga.

The campaign is the first part of a collaboration between Fakku and Maeda to publish the latter's entire collection of hentai manga in English. The remastered edition of Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend will include new chapters that were originally cut from previous English versions of the manga. Other manga included in the project include: La Blue Girl, Demon Beast Invasion, and Adventure Kid.

WANIMAGAZINE Co., Ltd. originally published Urotsukidoji's six volumes from 1986 to 1987, and CPM Manga published an English version from 2002 to 2003. Fakku stated that its release will include chapters that were not included in previous English releases due to censorship.

The manga received an anime adaptation and several sequels. Critical Mass Video released Urotsukidoji: New Saga, a remake of the original anime adaptation, on DVD in 2011.

Fakku published Okama's Hanafuda erotic manga in February. The company entered a partnership with Wanimagazine last year and published Renai Sample by Homunculus, PuniKano by Pyon-Kti, Welcome to Tokoharu Apartments by Gunma Kisaragi, Alluring Woman by Cuvie, and Peachy-Butt Girls (The Pretty Peach Hip) by Bosshi.
