Tomy International to Release Interactive Z-Ring Toy for Pokémon Sun/Moon

Z-Ring toy to coincide with Pokémon Sun/Moon's launch

The Pokémon Company announced on Monday that Tomy International will release a "Z-Ring" toy bracelet to coincide with the November 18 launch of its Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon games. The Japanese Pokémon website announced that the company will also release separate "Z-Crystals" that are compatible with the bracelet.

In the game, the trainer uses the Z-Ring bracelet with the Z-Crystals to allow Pokémon to perform a new type of ability, "Z-Moves." When a "Z-Move" is used in the game, the Z-Ring toy will light up, vibrate, and play sounds corresponding to the action on the screen. Tomy International will reveal more information on the Z-Ring at a later time.

The Z-Ring with the electric-type Z-Crystal will retail for 2,600 yen (about US$26) in Japan. The Z-Ring with six Z-Crystals (Normal, Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, and Fighting) and a collection board will retail for 4,490 yen (about US$44). Additional Z-Crystals will be sold in sets of three for 599 yen (about US$6).

The official Pokémon YouTube channel revealed the Z-Moves, along with a number of other new features and Pokémon in a trailer on Monday.

The games will debut in Japan and North America on November 18, followed by Europe on November 23.
