The official website for the anime adaptation of 5pb. Games and MAGES.' science adventure game Chaos;Child updated on Wednesday with a key visual that reveals the character designs of six of the main characters.

The anime will star:

Sumire Uesaka as Serika Onoe

Sarah Emi Bridcutt as Nono Kurusu

Suzuko Mimori as Hinae Arimura

Sayaka Nakaya as Hana Kazuki

Inori Minase as Uki Yamazoe

The main cast members above are returning from the game. Other cast members for the anime include:

Masato Jinbo (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei!, Shomin Sample, Nozo × Kimi) is directing the anime and is also handling series composition. Kazuyuki Yamayoshi is serving as chief animation director and adapting Mitsumi Sasaki and Yukihiro Matsuo's character designs for animation. SILVER LINK is animating the series. Takeshi Abo (Steins;Gate, Robotics;Notes) and onoken (Accel World) are composing the music.

Kanako Itou (Steins;Gate, Robotics;Notes) is performing the opening theme song and Konomi Suzuki (Re:Zero, WATAMOTE) is performing the ending theme song. Neither song has yet been given a title.

In the psycho-suspense story, after a magnitude-7.8 earthquake hits Tokyo's Shibuya ward on November 6, 2009, a black fire spreads and causes mass panic on the day of the earthquake. The sudden disaster that becomes known as the "Shibuya Earthquake" kills 3,851 people and injures 30,927 more.

The game is set in a reconstructed Shibuya district in October 2015. A string of mysterious deaths occurs in Shibuya amidst the reconstruction. People begin to take notice as the strange events start on the same day that chaos broke out in Shibuya with a certain incident five years earlier. The events are called the "Return of the New Generation Madness."

The series will premiere in January.

The game is 5pb. and MAGES' fourth science-adventure title, after Chaos;HEAd, Steins;Gate, and Robotics;Notes.

Chaos;Child first debuted on the Xbox One in 2014. That first version allowed players to hear in-game phone calls via the controller, but the versions on other platforms changed this and other features. MAGES. and 5pb. Games shipped ports for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita in Japan last June with a Z (18+) age rating. The game's PC port launched in Japan in April. The game's spinoff, Chaos;Child Love chu☆chu!!, is slated for next spring.

Illustrator relucy is working on a manga adaptation of the game.
