Game producer Junichiro Tamura announced at a Tokyo Otaku Mode livestream event at Tokyo Game Show 2016 on Saturday that the English release of Acquire's Akiba's Beat game is delayed to the first quarter of 2017. XSEED Games previously announced plans to release the game this winter on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.

Tamura confirmed at the event that the game is slated for December in Japan. Acquire delayed the game's Japanese release from fall to winter.

Acquire also shared about 30 minutes of gameplay footage at the event.

Kōta Takano is directing the game. ClariS is performing the game's theme song "again."

First print editions in Japan will come with production materials, a soundtrack CD with all seven characters songs, and a download code for white idol outfits for all seven main characters.

The game is a successor to the Akiba's Trip series of games, but is the first "action RPG" in the series.
