Rumiko Takahashi's RIN-NE Manga Gets 3rd Anime Season in Spring 2017

New season will again air on NHK-E TV

This year's 44th issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine is revealing on September 28 that Rumiko Takahashi's RIN-NE (Kyōkai no Rinne) manga is getting a third television anime season that will premiere in spring 2017. The issue also reveals a key visual for the new season, and features comments from voice actress Marina Inoue (Sakura) and voice actor Kaito Ishikawa (Rinne). The anime will again run on NHK-E TV.

The magazine's 43rd issue had teased on September 21 that the 44th issue would have "super important news" for the manga.

The RIN-NE 2 television anime series premiered in Japan on April 9. The anime's official website noted earlier this month that the final episode of the anime series draws near. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime as it airs, and Sentai Filmworks licensed the series for home video.

The anime's first 25-episode season premiered in April 2015. Crunchyroll also streamed the series as it aired, and Sentai Filmworks released the series on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in two sets in July and September.

Takahashi launched the manga in Shonen Sunday in 2009 after ending her long-running series Inu Yasha in the same magazine. The manga's 32nd compiled book volume shipped in Japan on September 16. Viz Media is releasing the manga in English, and it released the 21st compiled volume on July 12.
