Anime premieres Saturday; Crunchyroll will stream, Funimation will provide English dub

Crunchyroll began streaming an English-subtitled trailer for the upcoming original anime Izetta: The Last Witch (Izetta, Die Letzte Hexe or Shūmatsu no Izetta) on Tuesday.

The series will premiere on Saturday, October 1 at 11:00 p.m. on AT-X. Crunchyroll will stream the anime, and Funimation will provide an English broadcast dub for the anime as it airs in Japan.

Funimation describes Izetta: The Last Witch:

Set in an alternate Earth on the eve of the 2nd World War, the story of Shūmatsu no Izetta follows Izetta, the last surviving member of a clan of witches that possesses the ability to magically manipulate any object that they touch. Izetta pledges to help protect Princess Fine and the tiny Alpine kingdom of [Eylstadt] from invasion by the imperialistic forces of Germania.

The anime stars (Note: official name spellings aren't confirmed.):

Himika Akaneya (PriPara franchise's Laala) as Izetta, a descendant of a clan of witches who had passed down mysterious powers for generations. She can cast these powers on anything she touches and manipulate it at will. Since she was little, she and her grandmother lived their lives on the road, traveling between European countries in order to hide these powers.

Saori Hayami (Sound! Euphonium's Haruka Ogasawara) as Finé, the sole daughter in line to succeed Rudolph III, the ruler of the Principality of Elystadt. From a young age she has been adored for her wisdom and kind heart by not only her retainers, but by all the citizens. Since her father has been stricken by illness, she has been busy preparing for Germania's invasion in his stead.
