News Sentai Filmworks Licenses Haikyu!! 3rd Season

Sentai Filmworks announced on Friday that it has licensed Haikyu!! 3rd Season: Karasuno High vs. Shiratorizawa High School (Haikyu!! Karasuno Kōkō VS Shiratorizawa Gakuen Kōkō), the third season of the Haikyu!! anime. The company plans to release the series digitally and on home video.
Crunchyroll will stream the series as it airs in Japan, beginning on Friday at 2:30 p.m. EDT.
In Japan, the anime will premiere on October 7 at 25:55 (effectively October 8 at 1:55 a.m.) on TBS, and it will also air on the MBS, CBC, RKB Mainichi Broadcasting, HBC, TBC (Tohoku Broadcasting Co., Ltd.), and BS-TBS channels.
The staff is returning from the first two seasons. Susumu Mitsunaka is again directing the series at Production I.G with assistant director Mariko Ishikawa. Taku Kishimoto is handling series composition and Takahiro Kishida is designing the characters. Yuuko Yahiro is joining Takahiro Chiba as a chief animation director. Hiromi Kikuta is serving as sound director and Yuuki Hayashi and Asami Tachibana are composing the music. Burnout Syndromes is performing the opening theme song "Hikariare," and Nico Touches the Walls is performing the ending theme song "Mashi Mashi."
The first anime season premiered in April 2014. The second season premiered in October 2015. Sentai Filmworks has licensed and released the first season on home video, and has also licensed the second season. Crunchyroll streamed both seasons as they aired.
The anime franchise also received two compilation anime films in July and September of last year.
Viz Media published the fourth volume of the original manga in North America on on Tuesday.
