The Wallflower's Hayakawa Launches New Short Manga Series

Kira Kira Heart Drop debuts with "tiny bit bitter" story on November 8

The November issue of Shogakukan's Petit Comic magazine announced on Saturday that Tomoko Hayakawa will launch the Kira Kira Heart Drop short manga series in the next issue. The December issue will ship in Japan on November 8.

The new short manga series will tell a woman's story that is "a tiny bit bitter."

Hayakawa ended her The Wallflower (Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge; pictured right) shōjo manga in January 2015. She ended her detective manga Real Face in February 2014.

Kodansha Comics began releasing The Wallflower manga in North America after taking over publication rights from Del Rey in 2010. The 36th and final volume shipped in North America this past April. The Wallflower inspired a 2006-2007 25-episode television anime series, which ADV Films released on DVD. The story also inspired a live-action television series in 2010.
