Sentai Filmworks released film in theaters, on home video in 2012

The Toonami segment of the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block announced on Monday that it will run Makoto Shinkai's anime film Children Who Chase Lost Voices on November 5 at 3:00 a.m. after One Piece. That night is also when the United States shifts its clocks back one hour for Daylight Saving Time.

Children Who Chase Lost Voices centers on Asuna, a girl who spends her solitary days listening to the mysterious music emanating from the crystal radio she received from her father as a memento. However, she embarks on a journey of adventure to find a mysterious boy she just met, and thus comes to know the cruelty and beauty of the world, as well as loss.

Director Shinkai is also the creator of Voices of a Distant Star, The Place Promised in Our Early Days, 5 Centimeters Per Second, Garden of Words, and most recently, the record-setting your name. Takayo Nishimura (5 Centimeters Per Second, Before Green Gables) designed the characters in Children Who Chase Lost Voices and oversaw the animation process. Takumi Tanji (5 Centimeters Per Second, The Place Promised in Our Early Days) directed the art, and musical composer Tenmon (5 Centimeters Per Second, The Place Promised in Our Early Days, Voices of a Distant Star) collaborated with Shinkai again on this project.

Sentai Filmworks licensed Children Who Chase Lost Voices release in theaters and home video in North America in 2012.
