Jump Giga Magazine Ends 4-Issue Run, Successor Magazine Revealed (Updated)

Shueisha published the fourth and final planned issue of Shueisha's Shonen Jump GIGA magazine Thursday, but revealed a new successor publication in the same issue. The announcement hinted that the new publication will have the keyword of "X" and will surpass "G." The next issue of Weekly Shonen Jump and the Shonen Jump Plus website will provide more details.
The fourth issue of Shonen Jump GIGA published the final chapters of all of its serialized manga. The magazine was originally planned as a four-issue magazine. Naoshi Komi (Nisekoi - False Love) published the new "Tokidoki" one-shot manga in the issue as well. The issue also featured a new one-shot manga by Taishi Tsutsui (Magical Pâtissier Kosaki-chan), titled "Replay Bowl," as well as spinoff chapters for Haikyu!!, Black Clover, and Samon-kun the Summoner.
Shueisha's official Twitter account for the magazine has stated that while plans for what will happen to Shonen Jump GIGA in the future are currently undecided, the magazine hasn't been suspended.
Shueisha's Shōnen Jump NEXT!! magazine changed its name to Shonen Jump GIGA starting on July 20. The concept of the monthly magazine was "a special edition for evolved newcomers."
Shōnen Jump NEXT!! originally launched with the title Shonen Jump in 1969 as a spinoff magazine when Weekly Shonen Jump became weekly. The magazine changed to a seasonal magazine published four times a year in the 1980s, and was then rebranded as Akamaru Jump with three publications a year in 1996. The publication then changed names to Shonen Jump NEXT! in 2010, and changed to being published four times a year in 2012. In 2014 the magazine changed names again to Shōnen Jump NEXT!! and was published every other month.
Shōnen Jump NEXT!! published spinoff chapters of manga featured in the main Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, one-shots by current and past Weekly Shonen Jump contributors, and one-shots by newcomers.
