Story of young girl who summons fox spirit launched in 2011

The November issue of Square Enix's Gangan Joker magazine announced on Saturday that Midori Endō's Gugure! Kokkuri-san manga will end in the next issue on November 22. Endō launched the series in the magazine in 2011, and the eleventh compiled volume shipped in Japan this past March.

The story follows a little girl named Kohina, who summons a low-ranking fox spirit called Kokkuri-san. The spirit turns out to be a handsome man with white hair. While he intends to haunt Kohina, but he becomes concerned about her unhealthy lifestyle. The girl eats instant noodles for every meal. Kokkuri-san decides to look after Kohina, and her new life is full of encounters with various Japanese spirits.

A 12-episode television anime adaptation of the manga debuted in 2014. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired, and Sentai Filmworks released the anime on DVD and Blu-ray Disc this past April.
