Rewrite 2nd Season's 1st Promo Video Previews Story

2nd TV anime based on Visual Art's/Key's game premieres on January 14

The official website for the Rewrite television anime began streaming the second season's first promotional video on Thursday. The video previews the story of the second season, titled Rewrite 2nd Season Moon-Hen/Terra-Hen (Rewrite 2nd Season Moon Arc/Terra Arc). (Note: The official video is region-locked to Japan.)

The second series based on based on Visual Art's/Key's original visual novel will premiere on Saturday, January 14 at 11:30 p.m. on Tokyo MX, BS11, GTV, and Tochigi TV. It will also air on MBS, and stream on AT-X, Niconico Channel, Bandai Channel, Hikari TV, Video Market, Anime Hōdai, U-Next, d Anime Store, GYAO!, dTV, and Geo Channel.

The cast returning from the game includes:

  • Masakazu Morita as Kotarō Tennōji
  • Chiwa Saito as Kotori Kanbe
  • Saya Shinomiya as Chihaya Ohtori
  • Eri Kitamura as Akane Senri
  • Keiko Suzuki as Shizuru Nanatsu
  • Risa Asaki as Lucia Konohana
  • Kana Hanazawa as Kagari

The main staff from the first anime series are returning for the second season. Tensho (Kinmoza! Kiniro + Mosaic, The Fruit of Grisaia) is directing the anime at 8-bit, and he is in charge of series composition. Romeo Tanaka (Cross Channel scenario, Humanity Has Declined) and Visual Art's Kai (Clannad scenario, Grim Reaper Kyou) are collaborating on the composition and scripts. Masayuki Nonaka (Hello!! KINMOZA chief animation director, The Fruit of Grisaia main animator) is adapting the game's original character designs by Visual Art's/Key's Itaru Hinoue (Kanon, Air, Clannad, Little Busters!) for animation. He is also serving as chief animation director with Hiromi Nakagawa (Himouto! Umaruchan, Recently, my sister is unusual. episode animation director).

The first anime premiered on July 2 with a one-hour special first episode. Crunchyroll streamed the anime in North America, Central America, South America, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

Visual Art's/Key's Rewrite IgnisMemoria iOS and Android smartphone game is slated to launch this winter. Preregistration is open on the official website now.
