Ga-Rei creator's "battle action" story opens with boy meeting girl, transforming world

The February issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine announced on December 26 that Hajime Segawa (Tokyo ESP, Ga-Rei) will launch the Raisekamika manga in the next issue on January 26. The "battle action" series' story will feature the meeting of a boy and a girl. A transformation will unfold as an event engulfs the world.

Segawa's Tokyo ESP manga ended in July after running for 76 chapters. Segawa launched the "afterschool psychic action" series in Kadokawa's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine in 2010, shortly after ending The Enchained Spiritual Beast Ga-Rei supernatural action series. Kadokawa published the 16th and final compiled book volume of Tokyo ESP on September 26. Vertical published the seventh volume in North America on November 15, and the eighth volume will ship on April 25.

Segawa launched the Yūreisen Chronicle (Ghost Ship Chronicle) action-adventure manga in 2015. Kadokawa released the first compiled book volume last April 21.

Both Ga-Rei and Tokyo ESP have inspired anime adaptations. The Ga-Rei: Zero prequel television anime series premiered in 2008. The Tokyo ESP anime series premiered in 2014. Funimation streamed Tokyo ESP as it aired and released both anime on home video in North America.
