Shin-chan/Danganronpa 3 Voice Actor Keiji Fujiwara Takes Leave For Medical Treatment

Voice actor slated to reprise roles in Attack on Titan, Blue Exorcist sequels next year

Voice actor Keiji Fujiwara's agency Air Agency announced on Monday that Fujiwara is taking a break "for a while" from his voice acting activities to undergo medical treatment for an unspecified illness.

TV Asahi also confirmed on Monday that Fujiwara is taking a break from his role as Hiroshi Nohara in the long-running Crayon Shin-chan television anime series starting with the episode that will air on August 26. He will also be taking a break from the Crayon Shin-chan Gaiden net anime series that is streaming on Amazon Prime Video starting with the ninth episode, which will premiere on September 28.

Fujiwara is also currently voicing the role of Kōichi Kizakura in the Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School: Future Arc television anime series.

Fujiwara has also played roles in Attack on Titan (Hannes), Baccano! (Ladd Russo), Blue Exorcist (Shirō Fujimoto), Hunter × Hunter (Leorio), Galaxy Angel (Volcott O'Huey), Ushio & Tora (Shigure Aotsuki), Gintama (Hattori Zenzou), Magi: The Kingdom of Magic (Hinahoho), Fullmetal Alchemist (Maes Hughes), and Durarara!!×2 Shō (Kinnosuke Kuzuhara), among many others. He also voices the role of Axel in the Kingdom Hearts franchise.

Fujiwara is slated to reprise his role of Shirō Fujimoto in Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Impure King Arc (which will premiere in 2017) and the upcoming Attack on Titan sequel television anime series (which will premiere in spring 2017).
