In This Corner of the World has been in box office top 10 for 14 consecutive weeks

Makoto Shinkai's your name. (Kimi no Na wa.) anime film dropped from #4 to #6 in the Japanese box office for the February 11-12 weekend. The film briefly returned to the #1 spot three weeks ago after nine weeks off the top spot. The film is on its 25th weekend in Japan. The film started screening with English subtitles across Japan on January 28. The subtitled screenings feature the English versions of RADWIMPS' four theme songs, and they ran for two weeks.

As of Sunday, the film has earned 24.2 billion yen (about US$212 million) in Japan. It is now #4 on the all-time box office chart in Japan, just below #3 Frozen's 25.48 billion yen (about US$227 million).

Sunao Katabuchi's (Mai Mai Miracle, Black Lagoon) In This Corner of the World anime film fell from #7 to #8 in its 14th weekend. The film earned 62 million yen (about US$545,131) and sold 40,000 tickets over the weekend. It has earned over 2 billion yen (about US$17.58 million), and sold 1.5 million tickets as of Sunday. The film opened at 63 theaters, but more theaters are adding screenings due to the film's popularity and it has stayed in the top 10 every week since. The film's website now lists more than 200 theaters that have screened or will screen the film.

This is the film's 14th consecutive week in the box office top 10.

Shinjuku Swan II, the sequel to the live-action film of Ken Wakui's Shinjuku Swan manga, dropped off the chart. The film opened in Japan on January 21.
