Pierrot President Michiyuki Honma announced on Monday at a press event for the fifth anniversary of GungHo Online Entertainment's Puzzle & Dragons smartphone game that a second season of the Puzzle & Dragons X anime has been green-lit. The studio will announce details about the second television anime season in the future.
The anime will hold a collaboration with Sanrio Puroland theme park from March 21 to April 9. Hirune Hime: Shiranai Watashi no Monogatari (Ancien and the Magic Tablet) anime film director Kenji Kamiyama announced that Puzzle & Dragons will have a collaboration with his film, which will open in Japan on March 18. The Puzzle & Dragons X Nintendo 3DS games will also have a collaboration with the Monster Hunter Stories game.
From the studio Pierrot, that brought you Kingdom and Tokyo Ghoul comes a series based off of the hit game Puzzle & Dragons. Dorogoza Island is rich in “Drop Energy” that players can use on friendly monsters. Once strong enough, they can face enemies in puzzle wars. Winners reap rewards, but what happens to the losers? Only the brave can take on these monstrous challenges!
Puzzle & Dragons X ties to the Nintendo 3DS puzzle role-playing game, which shipped Japan on July 28 in two versions: "Kami no Shō" (God Chapter) and "Ryū no Shō" (Dragon Chapter). The anime premiered on July 4. Funimation is continuing to dub new episodes of the anime into its fall season.
