Blu-ray Disc release with English dub, sub slated for April 25

Viz Media announced on Wednesday that the company will release six original video anime (OVA) episodes with its Blu-ray Disc releases of the One-Punch Man anime series.

These OVA specials will be included in the Blu-ray Disc/DVD combo pack, as well as the standard Blu-ray Disc package. The DVD-only set will not include them. All home media releases will be available on April 25.

The One-Punch Man Blu-ray Disc/DVD combo pack is US$59.99 and the standard edition Blu-ray Disc set is US$49.99. The standard edition for the DVD-only set costs US$39.99.

Along the with OVA specials, the Blu-ray Disc/DVD combo pack features six collectible art cards, and a booklet containing interviews, character profiles, and other exclusives. Preorders of the limited edition combo pack from Right Stuf will come with a bonus item. Each media release will have all 12 episodes of the anime, available with an English dub and the original Japanese audio.

The OVAs that are appearing in Viz Media's release were originally included in the six Japanese Blu-ray Disc/DVD releases. Each OVA episode features a completely original story written by the manga's original author ONE.

Madhouse and director Shingo Natsume's first 12-episode anime season aired in Japan from October-December 2015. Viz Media and Daisuki both streamed the series outside of Japan as it aired. The anime premiered with an English dub on Adult Swim's Toonami block on July 16.

Yūsuke Murata's manga series adapts ONE's original web manga of the same name. Murata's manga is currently running on Shueisha's free Tonari no Young Jump spinoff website. Viz Media is publishing the original manga series digitally on its Weekly Shonen Jump anthology, and it is also releasing the series in print.

A second season of One-Punch Man has been greenlit.
