Screening starting on April 6 to also show parts of TV series, anime special

The official website for the Mr. Osomatsu anime series announced on Monday that it will host a "selection" theatrical screening of the anime series in Japan starting on April 6. The screening will feature an all-new anime "short episode." The website began streaming a trailer for the screenings on Monday.

The first screenings will take place simultaneously in six theaters in six cities in Japan on April 6 at 6:00 p.m. The project will then get wider screenings across Japan starting on April 7. All screenings will include the "main episodes" for each of the six Matsuno brothers from the television anime series, the "Osomatsu-san Ouma de Kobanashi" special, and the new short episode.

The Mr. Osomatsu anime series premiered in October 2015, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. Animation director Kanchi Suzuki posted in September that he is interested in working on a hypothetical second season for the show.

The special aired in Japan on December 12, and ended with the text "See You Again Someday!!" Crunchyroll streamed the anime under the title "Mr. Osomatsu JRA Special 2016." The 24-minute special is part of the "Hashire! Oumatsu-san" collaboration between Mr. Osomatsu and the Japan Racing Association. The collaboration also includes a series of six new anime shorts titled "Mutsugo to Ouma no Monogatari" (The Story of the Sextuplets and a Horse).
