posted on by Karen Ressler
Streaming service Daisuki announced on Wednesday that it will stream the television anime adaptation of Bandai Namco Entertainment and Kuma-Jet's The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls Theater (The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls Gekijō) manga. The service will announce more details at a later date.
The anime will premiere in Japan on April 4 at 9:55 p.m. on Tokyo MX and BS11, and will then air on Saga TV on April 5 at 1:55 a.m. Each episode will be five minutes long.
The anime stars:
- Ayaka Ohashi as Uzuki Shimamura
- Ayaka Fukuhara as Rin Shibuya
- Sayuri Hara as Mio Honda
- Ruriko Aoki as Riina Tada
- Hiromi Igarashi as Anzu Futaba
- Sumire Uesaka as Anastasia
- Maaya Uchida as Ranko Kanzaki
Mankyū (Donyatsu, DD Fist of the North Star, Mobile Suit Gundam-san) is directing the anime at the studio Gathering, where he also worked on the PUCHIM@S net anime adaptation of the Puchimas! -Petit Idolm@ster- manga. "BanNam" (Bandai Namco) is credited with the original work, and Kuma-Jet is credited with the anime's original character designs.
The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls Gekijō five-panel manga is irregularly serialized in The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls social mobile game app itself, often as a tie-in to game events and other media projects in the franchise. The "cute, comical" manga follows the idols' "real" daily life that can only be found in these panels. Kadokawa's ASCII Media Works imprint published the first compiled book volume in January 2015, and the fifth volume shipped on October 27. Kadokawa will publish the sixth volume on March 27.
The manga already inspired a mini-drama on the franchise's official streamed radio program, and an anime short that debuted in November.
