5th convention to return to Tokyo Big Sight March 22-25, 2018

The fourth AnimeJapan event at the Tokyo Big Sight complex drew 145,453 people over the weekend. The event ran for four days, with industry-only days on March 23-24, and public days on March 25-26. The event exceeds last year's attendance of 135,323. That event was held over three days.

At this year's event, about 4,051 visitors were business-related, including from overseas. 1,285 industry press members attended from 638 press companies. Of these, 1,205 people from 591 companies were from Japan, and 80 people from 47 companies were foreign.

The convention featured 182 companies, an increase over last year. The convention exhibited 158 companies in the main area and 52 companies in the business area.

11,770 people attended the separately but simultaneously held Family Anime Festa event. The event took place in Tokyo Big Sight's East Hall 8.

AnimeJapan's fifth convention will return to Tokyo Big Sight and run from March 22 to March 25, 2018. The event will again have two business days and two public days. The Family Anime Festa event will run from March 24 to March 25, 2018.

The AnimeJapan event debuted in 2014 as the merger of two previous events — Tokyo International Anime Fair (TAF) and Anime Contents Expo (ACE).
