Miyuki Sawashiro, Megumi Hayashibara join cast for new season that premiered on Saturday

Shogakukan began streaming a promotional video on Saturday for RIN-NE 3, the third television anime season inspired by Rumiko Takahashi's RIN-NE (Kyōkai no Rinne) manga.

The new season premiered in Japan on NHK E-TV on Saturday. Sentai Filmworks licensed the series, and Anime Network Online (ANO) will stream the series starting on Saturday at 7:00 a.m. EDT for subscribers in the United States, Canada, and Latin America.

The third season's new cast includes Miyuki Sawashiro as Anematsuri Annette Hitomi and Megumi Hayashibara as Otome Rokudō. Rock band Yoru no Honki Dance is performing the opening theme song "Shiny," and singer/songwriter duo Softly is performing the ending theme song "Suki Nano Kana" (I wonder if it's love).

The RIN-NE 2 television anime series premiered in Japan last April. ANO and Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired, and Sentai Filmworks licensed the series for home video.

The anime's first 25-episode season premiered in April 2015. ANO and Crunchyroll also streamed the series, and Sentai Filmworks released the series on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in two sets in July and September.

Takahashi launched the manga in Shonen Sunday in 2009 after ending her long-running series Inuyasha in the same magazine. The RIN-NE manga's 35th compiled book volume shipped in Japan on March 17. Viz Media is releasing the manga in English, and it released the 23rd compiled volume on March 14.
