posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Convention takes place on May 19-21

The Anime Central convention announced on Saturday that it will host singer May'n at this year's event. Anime Central is streaming a video of May'n greeting fans.

May'n performed songs as the Macross Frontier anime's "Galactic Fairy" idol Sheryl Nome. Beyond her performances for Macross Frontier, May'n has performed theme songs for anime series including Accel World, Phi-Brain - Puzzle of God, Aria the Scarlet Ammo, Inari Kon Kon, and M3 - Sono Kuroki Hagane. She performed the opening theme song for the television anime series Aquarion Logos with composer Yoko Kanno, and also performed the opening theme song for the Taboo Tattoo anime, and the ending theme song for the Izetta: The Last Witch anime. She most recently reprised her role as the singing voice of Sheryl Nome with the new song "Gooorgeous."

May'n finished her "OVER∞EASY" Asian tour with a performance in Tokyo on Saturday. The tour began in January, and saw her perform in Shanghai, Taipei, Seoul, and in various cities around Japan.

Other musical guests at the event include Taku Takahashi (DJ of m-flo, worked on soundtracks for Space Dandy and Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt) and Teddyloid (Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, Mekaku City Actors, Space Patrol Luluco, Japan Animator Expo's "ME! ME! ME!").

Anime Central is being held at the Hyatt O'Hare and the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois on May 19-21. The event is hosting its 20th anniversary this year. Other confirmed guests include Excel Saga anime director Shinichi Watanabe ("Nabeshin"), Takeshi Kunitomo of the GOUK fashion brand, author Helen McCarthy, veteran Japanese voice actor Tohru Furuya, and voice actors Tony Oliver, Micah Solusod, Crispin Freeman, and John Swasey.
