TV5 Streams Tagalog-Dubbed Ad For Norn9 Anime

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Anime premieres on April 20

Philippine television channel TV5 began streaming a commercial on Wednesday for its airing of the Norn9 (Norn9: Norn + Nonette) anime. The video previews the anime's Tagalog dub.

The show will premiere on April 20, and will air every Thursday at 5:15 p.m., with an encore broadcast on Saturdays at 11:30 p.m.

The series premiered in Japan in January 2016. Southeast Asian channel Aniplus-Asia aired each episode of the series four days after the episodes aired in Japan. TV5 is partnering with Aniplus-Asia for its slate of anime content for the programming block. Aniplus-Asia describes the anime:

Guided by one particular song, young elementary school student Suzuhara Sorata, from the Heisei Era, is warped through a time skip to an unfamiliar place that looks much like the towns from the Meiji or Taishou period from his textbooks. In this world, he meets three young ladies and nine young men and joins them on a journey aboard the mysterious Norn ship, a giant globe that floats in mid-air.

The anime is based on Otomate's Norn9: Norn + Nonette PlayStation Portable otome game. In the game, the player can choose between three different girls as the heroine, each with their own three male characters to romance. The main cast from the game reprised their roles for the anime.

Takao Abo (episode director for Eureka Seven, Macross Frontier, assistant director for Lunar Legend Tsukihime) made his directorial debut at Kinema Citrus and Orange for the series. Tetsuo Ichimura (Ane Log, episode director for Bleach, Penguindrum) served as assistant director, Natsuko Takahashi (My Love Story!!, 07-Ghost) handled the series composition, and Yukari Takeuchi (animation director for Bleach, Uta no Prince-sama - Maji Love 1000%) adapted Teita's original character designs for anime and also served as chief animation director. Nagi Yanagi performed the show's opening theme song "Kazekiri." Kaori Oda (Baccano!, Pandora Hearts) performed the ending theme song "Zero to Kei."

Otomate and Idea Factory released the game for PSP in May 2013. The PlayStation Vita port, Norn9: Var Commons, shipped in Japan in December 2014. Otomate and Idea Factory released a new game in the franchise titled Norn + Nonette Act Tune on the PS Vita last October.

Aksys Games released Norn9: Var Commons in North America and Europe in November 2015.
