New Fate/Extella Work is in Production

Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star's Nintendo Switch port ships in July

A special Fate/Extra CCC live-streaming event revealed on Tuesday that a new Fate/EXTELLA work is in production. The staff did not reveal details about the title but said Servant action will be important in the new work.

Mafia Kajita served as MC at the event, and voice actors Yui Ogura (voice of Fate/Extra CCC's Passion Lip), Noriko Shitaya (Fate/Extra CCC's Sakura Matō), and Nobunaga Shimazaki (Fate/Grand Order's Archer, Avenger) appeared as guests.

Nintendo announced during its Nintendo Direct presentation earlier this month that Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star will get a Nintendo Switch release. The port is slated for July 20 in Japan and July 25 in North America.

XSEED Games and Marvelous released Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in North America and Europe in January. The game launched for the same platforms in Japan in November. The game is set in the same world as Fate/Extra CCC and Fate/Extra.

Marvelous AQL released Type-Moon's Fate/Extra CCC spinoff game on the PlayStation Portable in Japan in 2013. The game inspired Robina's manga adaptation in 2015. The original Fate/Extra PSP dungeon role-playing game shipped in Japan in 2010, and Aksys Games released the game in North America in 2012.

Aniplex announced details earlier this month about its planned release of the Fate/Grand Order smartphone game in the United States and Canada this summer. The game's iOS and Android versions will have simultaneous releases in the U.S. and Canada. Aniplex released the game in Japan in summer 2015, and it has been downloaded more than 8 million times.
