Episode about Lucy features different staff, animation studio

The official Japanese and English YouTube channels for the Monster Strike anime series began streaming a Golden Week special episode for the series on Wednesday titled A Rhapsody Called Lucy -The Very First Song- (Zenritsu no Lucifer: Tada Hitotsu no Hajimari no Uta).

XFLAG describes the 21-minute episode:

"Change the world with music? Foolish."

Lucy's world stops after her band disbands. Meaningless days pass, until she meets her cousin Lucifer and his bandmate Ibaraki Doji. They ask her to join their indie band, the "Wicked Pistols".
Lucifer talks about his dream of going major after winning the MONSTERS ROCK competition, only for Lucy to reject him outright. However, Lucy's heart begins to thaw after a certain event...

The special features a different staff than the normal web anime series. Kazuya Sakamoto (She and Her Cat -Everything Flows-) directed the episode at LIDEN FILMS Kyoto Studio (She and Her Cat -Everything Flows- ) and XFLAG PICTURES. Teppei Sunamura was in charge of planning and the original draft, Haruka Sagawa served as character designer and chief animation director, and MONACA composed the music. Yoichi Kato handled the series composition and scenario.

Takayuki Hamana directs the ongoing web anime series at XFLAG PICTURES, Yokohama Animation Lab, and SANZIGEN. The second anime season premiered on April 1, and the series is streaming episodes with English subtitles on YouTube. The first season of the anime premiered in October 2015, and the 50th and final episode aired on December 1. The first season is also streaming on YouTube with English subtitles. Crunchyroll is streaming both seasons of the anime.

The Monster Strike The Movie prequel opened in December and topped the Japanese box office in its first weekend.
