The series adapts material from Tomoyoshi Itō and Shingo Morita's Weekly Young Jump biographical manga Eikō Naki Tensai-tachi (Geniuses Without Glory). Takahiro Sakurai will voice Takashi Yoshioka in the anime part.

Other cast members include Hiroyuki Yoshino, Katsuhisa Houki, Junji Majima, and Satomi Satou. Yoshiko Sakakibara will narrate the episode.

Mayori Sekijima (Samurai Pizza Cats, Saber Marionette J, Taboo Tattoo) is writing the script. Toshinori Fukushima (Major) is directing the series.
