posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Disney's BS (broadcast satellite) channel Dlife announced on Thursday that it will mark its fifth anniversary with new projects for the Fireball anime. The first part of the projects will be two 10-second "Dlife Kaikyoku 5 Shūnen Station ID" (Dlife Station Launch 5th Anniversary Station ID) videos.
The two 10-second shorts will be all-new videos that will air exclusively on Dlife. They will debut during the channel's new broadcast of the tenth season of the American science-fiction television series The X-Files. The shorts will debut during airing of the series' first episode, which will premiere on Dlife on June 17 at 10:00 p.m.
Dlife is also creating other special Fireball videos that will be available exclusively on the channel after the first two shorts debut.
Jinni's Animation Studios produced the first Fireball series of 3D computer-animated shorts about a female robot duchess named Drosel von Flügel (played by Miyuki Kawasho) and her guardian servant robot Gedächtnis (Tōru Ohkawa). The series debuted on Disney Channel Japan in 2008. Wataru Arakawa returned to write and direct the second series, titled Fireball Charming, which premiered in 2011.
