Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Trailer Shows Gameplay, Boss

Gothic horror-style game headed to Switch/Xbox One/PS4/PS Vita/PC

505 Games began streaming an E3 trailer for Koji "IGA" Igarashi's Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night game on Friday. The video shows gameplay and a boss named Bloodless. Igarashi noted that boss' appearance may be altered in the future.

Igarashi used Kickstarter to help fund the game. The project met its initial goal of US$500,000 within four hours of launching in May 2015, and the campaign ended with more than US$5.5 million. The campaign and its stretch goals funded the release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC. It also funded a Wii U version, but the version was cancelled in favor of a Nintendo Switch version.

Bloodstained -Ritual of the Night- will be an "action-adventure game in the gothic horror style." The game will offer single-player, collaborative, and versus modes. The Kickstarter describes the game:

You are Miriam, an orphan scarred by an alchemist curse which slowly crystallizes your skin. You must battle your way through a demon-filled castle summoned by Gebel, your old friend whose body has become more crystal than flesh.

Igarashi (Castlevania, Tokimeki Memorial) is helming the game, and Michiru Yamane (Skullgirls) and Ippō Yamada (Mega Man) will serve as sound producers and composers. David Hayter (Metal Gear Solid's Snake) is a cast member.

Igarashi left Konami to form his own development studio in 2014.
