Aniplex USA Releases 10th Anniversary Blu-ray Set for Gurren Lagann Anime

Aniplex of America announced on Saturday at its panel at A-Kon that it will release a Blu-ray Disc box set of the Gurren Lagann television anime series and the Gurren Lagann the Movie –Childhood's End- and Gurren Lagann the Movie – The Lights in the Sky Are Stars films.
The box set will ship on August 8, and pre-orders start on June 12. Aniplex of America is releasing the new set to celebrate the show's 10th anniversary.
The release will include Japanese and English audio for the television series, and Japanese audio for the two films. The set will also include the broadcast version of episode six as a bonus, and textless openings and endings. The box set will feature a box with an illustration by mechanical designer Yoh Yoshinari. The set has a store price of US$189.99 and a retail price of US$149.99.
The 27-episode Gurren Lagann television anime series premiered in April 2007. The Gurren Lagann the Movie –Childhood's End- film opened in September 2008, and Gurren Lagann the Movie – The Lights in the Sky Are Stars opened in April 2009.
Bandai Entertainment and Aniplex of America both previously released the series on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in North America. Aniplex USA released the Japanese Blu-ray Disc box set that included the series and both films in North America in 2013.
The franchise has also spawned two Gurren Lagann Parallel Works original video anime, several manga adaptations and spinoffs, and three stage plays.
