Black Butler Book of Circus, Prison School Released Monday

On Monday June 5, Anime Limited will release Black Butler: Book of Circus on Blu-ray and DVD. In the series Ciel and his butler Sebastian are asked by her Majesty to investigate the mysterious disappearance of small children, which made be connected to a traveling circus whose arrival coincides with the disappearances of the kids.

Anime Limited will release Prison School as a Collectors Blu-ray, including a 44-page booklet with artwork from the show and an interview with the director.

Hachimitsu Academy, a prestigious, historically all-girls school, has finally become co-ed. Average teen, Kiyoshi, is one of five boys to enroll. What he doesn't know is that the school is clandestinely ruled by an Underground Student Council of ruthless, cruel, totally hot female students! And when the boys get caught peeping, they're sent to the school's prison, which is run by the brutally seductive warden, who also happens to be the VP of the Underground Student Council. After the boys are forced endure manual labor, whips, and chains, they'll be left wishing they were locked up with actual criminals!

Tsutomu Mizushima (Girls und Panzer, Shirobako) helmed the project at J.C. Staff, working off of scripts supervised by Michiko Yokote (Valkyria Chronicles, Shirobako). Junichirō Taniguchi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica films, Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun) designed the characters, and was also chief animation director.

Manga Entertainment will release a Blu-ray/DVD combo edition of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Yen Press, which published the original novels in North America, described the story:

In Orario, fearless adventurers band together in search of fame and fortune within the monstrous underground labyrinth known as Dungeon. But while riches and renown are incentive enough for most, Bell Cranel, would-be hero extraordinaire, has bigger plans. He wants to pick up girls.

Is it wrong to face the perils of Dungeon alone, in a single-member guild blessed by a failed goddess? Maybe. Is it wrong to dream of playing hero to hapless maidens in Dungeon? Maybe not. After one misguided adventure, Bell quickly discovers that anything can happen in the labyrinth–even chance encounters with beautiful women. The only problem?He's the one who winds up the damsel in distress!

Funimation will release Overlord on Blu-ray and DVD. The series is set in 2138, when virtual reality gaming is booming. Yggdrasil, a popular online game is quietly shut down one day. However, one player named Momonga decides to not log out. Momonga is then transformed into the image of a skeleton as "the most powerful wizard." The world continues to change, with non-player characters (NPCs) beginning to feel emotion. Having no parents, friends, or place in society, Momonga then strives to take over the new world the game has become.

Manga Entertainment will release the third volume of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX (right) while MVM will release standard Blu-ray and DVD editions of Serial Experiments Lain (left).
