Kodansha Comics began releasing the manga digitally in English on May 30. The company describes the story:
Kasane's face is so hideous, you couldn't bear to look twice at her—and her ugliness has forced her to walk a harsh path in life. But her mother left her something: a tube of lipstick. The power of this lipstick will change everything about her downtrodden life.
Matsuura launched the ongoing series in Kodansha's Evening magazine in April 2013 as her debut work, and Kodansha published the 10th compiled volume on December 22. The manga was nominated for the Kodansha Manga Awards and the Manga Taisho Award in 2015.
