posted on by Anita Tai
Stage adaptation to run for ten performances in August

The official website of the television anime adaptation of Choboraunyopomi's Ai Mai Mi four-panel manga announced on Monday that the franchise will receive a stage play adaptation, Ai Mai Mi The Musical. The stage play will run for ten performances from August 15-20 at the Shinjuku Theater Brats.

The cast includes Miya Amamiya, Yūka Amemiya, Yūki Utami, Tsukasa Uchiyama, Yuzu Ōkawa, Rika Katsumata, Shizuka Kawasaki, Futaba Kino, Ayumi Kumakura, Yū Sasahara, Rina Shimizu, Shiori Sugiura, Kami Daimon, Mayu Chūman, Rika Momokawa, Arisa Morishima, Karin Yasui, Risa Yuzuki, and Seitarō Mukai (Special appearance). The stage play will also have guest appearances that will be announced.

The original manga follows girls in a manga club — Ai, Mai, Mī, and Ponoka-sempai — who might be fighting evil invaders threatening Earth, facing off against rivals in tournaments, and dealing with other absurd situations when they are not drawing manga.

The first anime season aired in 2013, the second season aired in 2014, and the third season premiered this year in January. Crunchyroll streamed all three series as they aired in Japan.
