Closed beta signups for PS4, Xbox One to start on July 26

Arc System Works and Bandai Namco Entertainment revealed a new trailer for their Dragon Ball FighterZ 2D fighting game during the Evolution Championship Series 2017 tournament on Sunday. The trailer shows the character Trunks — specifically the "Future Trunks" that appears in the story's "Cell Saga." The company also revealed details on the game's closed beta test.

Arc System Works will open signups for the closed beta test on July 26. The test will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and will have nine playable characters available. (The previous version shown and demoed during E3 in June only had six characters.)

The three-versus-three fighting game will arrive on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in early 2018.

Bandai Namco Entertainment America describes the game:

Arc System Works delivers an explosive, action-packed game that combines classic 2D fighting with advanced 3D character models that look and feel as if they are ripped straight out of the DRAGON BALL series.
