Crunchyroll Adds Assassination Classroom Season 2, GUNxSWORD, Shiki Anime to Catalog

Funimation previously released all 3 series

Crunchyroll announced on Thursday that it has added the second season of the Assassination Classroom anime, as well as the GUNxSWORD and Shiki anime series to its catalog.

Funimation describes Assassination Classroom:

Forget about homework and pop quizzes. The students of Class 3E have a far more important assignment: kill their teacher before the end of the year! A tentacle-d sensei that moves at Mach 20 is out to conquer the classroom after destroying seventy percent of the moon. In addition to reading, writing, and arithmetic, the murderous monster behind the lectern will teach his students everything he knows about the assassination game. Should some eager beaver prove to be a quick study in killing, he or she will save Earth from extinction – and collect a hefty reward.

The anime is available for users in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and South Africa, and for Premium members in Iceland, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark. Crunchyroll also announced that it expanded the availability for its stream of the first season to Premium members in Iceland, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark.

The first 22-episode television anime series adaptation premiered in Japan in January 2015, while the second season premiered in January 2016. Funimation streamed both series as they aired. The series also received a compilation film titled Ansatsu Kyōshitsu: 365-Nichi no Jikan last November.

The original manga also inspired two live-action films, the second of which premiered in Japan in March 2016. Jō Aoto and Kizuku Watanabe launched a manga spinoff titled Koro-sensei Q! (Koro Teacher Quest!), which inspired both an anime short and a net anime. Crunchyroll and Funimation streamed the net anime.

Funimation describes GUNxSWORD:

There's a claw-fisted, genocidal maniac terrorizing the planet of endless illusion, and only Van, a tight-lipped loner in a jet black tuxedo, can bring the scoundrel to justice. Armed with his shape-shifting sword and a mechanized suit of armor, Van hunts the villain who murdered his one true love. With any luck, he'll find the man he seeks before the sun sets on civilization.

The anime is available for users in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and South Africa, and for Premium members in Iceland, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark.

The 26-episode anime premiered in 2005. Geneon Entertainment released the series on individual DVDs from 2006 to 2007. Funimation later re-released the series on a single DVD set in 2010.

Code Geass and Maria the Virgin Witch director Goro Taniguchi directed the anime at AIC A.S.T.A.

Funimation describes Shiki:

As citizens of a secluded village die off in alarming numbers, the head doctor tries desperately to save them—but his efforts are in vain. Panic and disillusionment run rampant as loved ones' corpses rise from the grave with an insatiable thirst for human blood. Haunting and hallucinogenic, Shiki stares into the hearts of both the hunter and the hunted—and blurs the line between man and monster.

The anime is available for users in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.

The 22-episode series premiered in 2010, and adapts Ryū Fujisaki's manga adaptation of Fuyumi Ono's original horror novels. Funimation streamed the series as it aired in Japan, and released it on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in 2012.
